Our Approach

How Rocamar thinks before it advises

Rocamar's value is not simply what it recommends — it's the discipline behind how those recommendations are reached. In a market where most advisory is built on personal networks and instinct, Rocamar applies structured research methodology to every engagement. The result is expansion strategy grounded in documented evidence, not informed assumption — giving clients and their stakeholders a defensible basis for every decision made.

The Methodology

From diagnostic to market presence

ASSESMENT

Every engagement begins with a structured diagnostic. Rocamar evaluates your current position, expansion objectives, internal readiness, and risk appetite before any advisory work is scoped. This phase exists to determine whether the expansion ambition is realistic and whether Rocamar is the right advisory relationship for it. In some cases, the recommendation at this stage is to pause, recalibrate, or address internal gaps before committing resources to external markets.

INTELLIGENCE

The research phase produces the evidence base on which all subsequent strategy depends. Rocamar conducts market-specific feasibility analysis covering regulatory environment, competitive landscape, consumer and stakeholder expectations, cultural dynamics, and partnership opportunities. Every finding is documented, sourced, and designed to be presented to boards, investors, or institutional partners.

STRATEGY

Research is translated into a tailored expansion roadmap: market positioning, messaging architecture, stakeholder mapping, partnership sequencing, timeline, and budget framework. The strategy is designed to be a working document that guides decisions. Where the intelligence phase reveals that a market is not viable or that timing is wrong, Rocamar advises accordingly, even when it means recommending against engagement.

ACTIVATION

Strategy is brought to market through coordinated communication, stakeholder introductions, and targeted events. Rocamar advises and facilitates throughout this phase, working alongside the client's existing teams and, where needed, coordinating with vetted local professionals. The advisory relationship continues through market entry and early consolidation, ensuring that what was planned on paper translates into credible, coherent market presence.

What Sets This Apart

Research before recommendation.

Every strategic position Rocamar advises on is grounded in documented market analysis — not experience presented as evidence.

One senior relationship.

Clients work directly with the founder throughout the engagement. There is no handoff to a junior team, no account manager layer, no dilution of attention.

Advisory, not agency.

Rocamar sits above your existing teams — aligning strategy across functions, not replacing or competing with specialists you already trust.

The Foundation: European Business Society at Duke University

Where The Methodology Was Built

The research-first approach that defines Rocamar was developed and proven over two years of building a consultancy from the ground up. As founder of the European Business Society (EBS) at Duke University, Rocamar's principal created a pro bono research consultancy that grew to manage over a dozen active projects in parallel, closed more than 20 engagements across multiple sectors in its first year, and operated with a team of over 50 volunteer consultants drawn from Duke's undergraduate body.

EBS established a formal partnership with InnovX, one of Europe's largest startup accelerators, and collaborated with Duke's Fuqua Graduate School of Business, providing research advisory to early-stage and scaling companies navigating complex market questions, often focused on transatlantic expansions.

The analytical frameworks, project management discipline, and cross-sector research methodology developed through EBS form the operational backbone of Rocamar's approach.

Request a Consultation

Rocamar's advisory begins with a conversation. If you are considering a cross-border expansion, or advising a client who is, we welcome the opportunity to discuss whether Rocamar's approach is the right fit.
